Self-Help Groups are an element of the project "Deinstitutionalization as an Opportunity for Positive Change" which the Leonardo Foundation implements under the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development 2014-2020, managed by the Ministry of Development.
The main purpose of creating and moderating Self-Help Groups is to create conditions for participants to maintain dignity and subjectivity, regain self-steering, rebuild satisfying social relationships, rebuild a sense of security, and return to fulfilling social roles.
At the center of the Individual Recovery Process model, a person with experience of mental crisis is embraced with care and support by the Self-Help Group Moderator cooperating with specialists in medical and social services; the Family Support Network and Significant Others are also included in this process.
Self-Help Group Moderator Maria Kudroń and Recovery Assistant Adam Ptak run an online Self-Help Group from Staniątki.
